Oh Hi, I'm Adam
Co-host, writer, and the eternally bewildered audience stand-in behind The Compendium: An Assembly of Fascinating Things.
The Compendium is a weekly variety podcast that gives you everything you need to know on a topic to help stand your ground at a social gathering. We explore stories from the darker corners of true crime, forgotten historical events, and incredible people.
Why We Started The Compendium
We started The Compendium because Kyle was fed up with me never knowing anything about the incredible stories he'd fallen down the rabbit hole with over the years.
He would send me links to his favourite true crime cases, historical events, and stories about unbelievable people, but to really get to grips with any of them, I often found I had to commit to an eight-part documentary series. And honestly, who has time for that?
So The Compendium was born — an assembly of fascinating things.

We set out to creat a platform where Kyle could tell me all these amazing stories. We wanted The Compendium to feel alive: sharp, cinematic, funny, and occasionally deranged. Something that could make me, and you guys laugh one minute and question the fabric of society the next.
But it also had to fit into real life — whether you’re wrangling kids, commuting to work, or just killing time.
It was so important to us that we create a show that felt like you are hanging out with mates, but smarter. But above all, the goal was simple: to give you everything you need to know about a story so you can hold your own at any social gathering.
My Favourite Episode
“The Nun on the Run: The Wild Disappearance of Sister Mary Caritas”This one has everything: mystery, scandal, and a nun who decided the convent just wasn’t cutting it anymore. The Nun on the Run is one of those stories that starts quietly — a missing person notice, a worried parish — and then spirals into a nationwide chase involving stolen money, fake identities, and an escape plan that could’ve been written by a screenwriter on caffeine pills.
It’s absurd, tragic, and completely human — exactly what The Compendium does best. One woman’s quest for freedom, faith, and possibly a better hairdryer. It’s the kind of story that makes you laugh, then leaves you wondering what secrets everyone else might be hiding under their habits.
